2008 in 2008
I've kicked off another 'Something in Something' plan for 2008. When I turned 30 in 2005, I did a '30 in 30 at 30' program. This was to run 30 miles in 30 days when I was 30. Effectively a mile a day for 30 days just to get into the 'spirit' of running. I actually locked in on a loop of 1.6 miles and did it for 72 days straight. That was the catalyst for me running my first marathon a few months later.
For 2008, I'm planning a 2008 in 2008 campaign (started today). This will be 2008 'reps' of various exercises. So I have a board on my wall now that will track:
Right Arm Curls (with 25 lbs)
Left Arm Curls (25 lbs)
Sit Ups
Push-Ups
Military Press (25 lbs in each hand)
Squats (25 lbs in each hand)
(As you can tell, I only have 1 set of barbells - 25 lbs - so I had to make due!).
It won't (better not) take me all of 2008 to complete those reps, but even knocking it out by the end of Feb (60 days) means on average I did 30+ reps of each, each day. That's far more consistent than I was in 2007.
