Power of 'The Secret'

So I was flying back from Toronto last night and had a true experience with the power of positive thought from 'The Secret'. After 1.5 hours sitting on the tarmac in Toronto, I had become convinced that I would be missing my flight in Chicago (not the first time). My attitude was pretty negative through most of the flight (imagining a night spent on the airport floor, deciding if I would just need to drink my way through the experience, wondering if I could change into jeans in the bathroom out of my business clothes without stepping in 'something'?).

But then I decided to try out a little law of attraction effort, and focused the last 15 minutes of my flight imagining how I was going to be home tonight, sleeping in my bed tonight, and seeing my kids tonight. We landed 30 minutes after the scheduled departure time of my connection flight. Not a great sign. But I said "I'm making it." I left the plane, walked past the gate assistance and directly to the departure boards. It showed my flight to Phoenix as 'closed'. No problem I said. "I'm making it." I took off in a classic airport half-sprint, dragging my banging my carry-on behind me. Though I had to sprint the full length of the terminal, I said "I'm making it." As I was still 100 yards from the gate, they announced "Absolute last call for Phoenix." A new tier of speed kicked in. Sweating, panting and smiling (I figured I needed the agent to want to help me) I raced up to the closed door and talked my way on, indicating my 3 year old would REALLY like to see my tomorrow morning. So point to the law of attraction, or point to the general aviation disaster that is the Chicago airport, but "I MADE IT." So I'm home this morning and got to have breakfast with my son.

Oh wow! I'm kind of a cynic

Oh wow! I'm kind of a cynic when it comes to the law of attraction, but maybe there is some merit to it. . .
